Fiboadenomas are common benign breast lumps that occur particularly in younger women, and which are considered aberrations of normal breast development rather than neoplasms or tumors. Spontaneous infarction is an uncommon complication of fibroadenoma of the breast. Although infarction following fine needle aspiration has been reported previously, this may be the first reported case of total infarction on the first surgical excision. We report the pathological and histological findings of a rare case of spontaneous total infarction of fibroadenoma in a 12-year-old girl.
