Mycotic aortic aneurysm coexisting with vertebral osteomyelitis is a rare clinical entity that may be lethal if not diagnosed promptly and treated effectively. A 67-year-old man presented with a mycotic aneurysm of the infrarenal abdominal aorta and lumbar vertebral osteomyelitis caused by Salmonella group C1. He was treated successfully by resection of the infected aorta, thorough debridement, extra-anatomic bypass grafting, and antibiotic administration.
