臺灣工商發展，人工缺乏，殺草劑對於菸作栽培提供顯著經濟效益，目前已篩選推薦於苗床者4種，本圃者7種藥劑，共12種用法，供農民選用(3,5,4,8)。使用於苗床可節省每公頃28工人工，使用於本圃可節省19工人工(3)。本圃用殺草劑應再探討篩選劑量更小效果良好、安全、經濟之藥劑供萌後使用。

For the time being. 4 herbicides are reommended in tobacco seedling beds for weed control and 7 in tobacco fields. Tobacco seedling beds with herbicide application can save 28 laborers per ha. While applied in the fields, it can save 19 laborers per ha. In the future we need to screen safer, low-dosed and more effective herbicides for postemergence weeds control.
