南方根瘤線蟲感染臺灣農地雜草後形成的根瘤形態計有三種：唸珠狀或聯結成腫瘤，半圓球形及平突形。在雜草根部寄生後完成一世代所需時間以滿天星的 33 天最短，四生臂形草的44天最長。殺草劑的使用，有助於降低農地線蟲密度，其中以嘉磷塞最具效力。
