植物生長素可能在今後雜草防治上扮演著新角色，由于某些生長調節劑能增加雜草對藥劑之吸收量，增加殺草劑之藥效。或能解除某些殺草劑對作物之抑制作用，當做作物保護劑，防止藥害，或促進土壤中雜草種子之萌發，使得一次施用殺草劑更有效，多年生雜草在目前防治上較感困難，植物生長調節劑能促使多年生雜草球莖或鱗莖上芽之萌發，或能防止球莖之形成，減緩多年生雜草之繁殖，配合殺草劑之施用，能有效地控制此類雜草。本文謹將現在料整理供為今後進一步研究之參考。

Plant growth regulators may play a new roles in weed control, since some plant growth regulators could promote the uptake of herbicides by weeds, hence the phytotoxicity was increased. Some plant growth regulators could prevent the inhibition of herbicide when it applied to crop. Furthermore they may induce the germination of weed seeds in the soil, therefore increased the effectiveness of weeds control. At present, perenial weeds were found more difficult to control than that of annual weeds, however, some plant growth regulator can effectively control perennial weeds.
