Alachlor is a selective preemergence herbicide for control of most annual grases and certain annual broadleaf weeds in soybeans, peanuts and certain other crops. It is absorbed by the shoots of plants and inhibits protein systhesis in susceptible by the shoots of plants and inhits protein systhesis in susceptible plants. It provides effective weed control for 4-7 weeks. The product is degraded by microorganisms with some chemical decomposition. Alachlor does not persist in soil, environment or crops.
