利用麥金塔(Macintosh)電腦之套裝軟體Mariah建立一個雜草影像資料庫，可供輔助雜草教學與鑑定。本資料庫主要包括關鍵字及雜草外形與內部構造的影像。本文以禾草及莎草科植物為例，介紹有關各種影像擷取的方法及設備，並加以討論資料庫建立的步驟與查詢的方法。

A computerized image databases of external features andinternal structures of weeds was constructed by the computer app1ication,namely Symmetry Mariah. The database was designed as a helpfor identification and teaching of weeds in Taiwan. This databasecontains mainly key words and iTßages of the whole weed, thedissecting organ and the internal structure.Wíth grasses and sedges as an example, the equipments, methodsand procedures for captures of dífferent images were íntroduced andthe constructíon and retrievíng methods of thís database were alsodescribed ín detail.
