Alcohol use is very common in our lives and has profound effects on our bodies, especially in adolescents and older peo-ple. Alcohol can act on multiple neurotransmitter systems. Among them, the dopaminergic system is thought to play a key role in alcohol-related behaviors and alcohol dependence. This review focuses on the relationship between development
and aging of the mesolimbic dopaminergic system and alcohol use.
