中文摘要

蘇力菌,BT,是一種革蘭氏陽性,能形成孢子的細菌,在芽孢生殖時會產生殺蟲結晶蛋白質。由於是活的的微生物產品,蘇力菌殺蟲劑有如下的優點:具生物分解,選擇性,對人類、非標的的生物和環境安全,開發和登記的花費低廉。上述之特性使得蘇力菌成為生物技術可資利用之侯選者。目前蘇力菌之研究,不但著重在微生物學上之應用,如品系分離、改善和醱之調適,亦重視新的方法如基因選殖和DNA排序,以創造嶄新的蘇力菌產品。本文就利用生物技術來創新蘇力菌產品加以提網絜領之說明,並且對以原生質體之去卻和結合以發展新品系之方法予以描述。最後並針對害蟲對蘇力菌產生抗性以及基因工程之蘇力菌產品在生態上應有之考量加以討論。

英文摘要

Bacil1us thuringiensis, commonly known as BT, is a grampositive,spore-forming bacterium which produces an insecticidalC叮Tstal protein, ICP, in the course of sporulation. As productsof biodegradability, selectivity, safety for humans, nontarget organisms,environment and lower development and registrationcosts. These features have also made BT attractive candidatefor biotechnology. Current research on BT focuses not only onmicrobiological practices such as strain isolation and improvementand fermentation optimization but also new methodologiesof gene cloning an DNA sequencing to create novel insecticidalproducts etc. The development of new strains by plasmid curingand conjugation is also described. Finally, emphasis isplasmid curing and conjugation is also described. Finally, emphasisis placed on the discussion of insect resistance to BTand the ecological concerns to genetically-engineered BT products.
